Ingredients
4 potatoes
2 tbsp poppy seeds
6 green chillies
½ tsp turmeric powder
1 cup oil
2 bay leaves
salt to taste
Method
1. Boil, peel and cube the potatoes.
2. Grind the poppy seeds, half the amount of green chillies, turmeric powder and salt in a mixer, to make a thick paste.
3. Mix the paste with a tablespoon of water. Smear this paste on the potato cubes.
4. Heat oil and season with bay leaves; add the potatoes and remaining chillies, and fry on low heat until the potatoes turn golden brown.
5. Drain the oil off the potatoes and take them off the heat. Serve Aloo Posto hot with rice and dal.
