  • विराट कोहली (Virat Kohli) और अनिल कुंबले (Anil Kumble) के मतभेद पहले भी सामने आ चुके हैं, लेकिन शायद किसी ने सोचा नहीं था कि इसका परिणाम यह होगा कि अनिल कुंबले टीम (Team India) के हेड कोच (Heald Coach) से इस्तीफा दे देंगे.
  • मंगलवार को कुंबले ने इस्तीफा देकर सबको चौंका दिया और अपने रेज़िगनेशन लेटर (Resignation Letter) में उन्होंने काफ़ी इमोशनल बातें भी लिखीं.
  • उन्होंने लिखा कि विराट को मेरा स्टाइल पसंद नहीं था और मेरे हेड कोच के पद पर बने रहने पर भी उन्हें एतराज़ था. उन्होंने क्रिकेट एडवाइज़री कमेटी का उन पर भरोसा जताने के लिए शुक्रिया अदा किया और लिखा कि मैं बेहद सम्मानित महसूस करता हूं कि मुझ पर भरोसा जताया गया.
  • जहां तक प्रदर्शन की बात है, तो उन्होंने इसका श्रेय कप्तान, टीम, कोचिंग व सपोर्ट स्टाफ को दिया. कुंबले ने लिखा है कि मेरे और कप्तान के बीच मतभेद मिटाने के लिए बीसीसीआई (BCCI) ने भी प्रयास किए, लेकिन शायद हम दोनों की पार्टनरशिप टिकाऊ नहीं थी, सो मेरा आगे बढ़ जाना ही सही क़दम है.
  • हालांकि मैंने हमेशा कप्तान और कोच के बीच के दायरे का सम्मान किया और उसे पार करने का प्रयास नहीं किया. अंत में कुंबले ने सभी का शक्रिया अदा किया!
