INGREDIENTS
40 gm Basmati rice,1 tsp ginger-garlic paste, 15 gm chopped onion, 10 gm chopped tomato, 1 tsp garam masala, ½ tsp red chilli powder, ½ tsp coriander powder, 1 tsp coriander leaves, 1 tbsp ghee, ½ tsp cumin seeds, 3-4 nos. black peppercorns, 2 nos. green cardamom, 2 nos. cloves, 1 cinnamon stick, 1 no. bay leaf
For Marination
110 gm prawns, 10 gm ginger-garlic paste, ½ tsp turmeric powder, ½ tsp red chilli powder, 10 ml lemon juice, Salt to taste
METHOD
• Marinate the prawns with ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, lemon juice and salt, and keep it aside for 10 minutes.
• Wash and soak the rice; keep it aside.
• In a heavy-bottomed pan, add ghee, ginger garlic paste, and add all whole garam masalas (spices).
• Add chopped onions and tomatoes, and sauté for 3-5 minutes.
• Add all the dry spices and the marinated prawns, and sauté until the prawns cook.
• Add rice and warm water in the pan.
• Cover with lid, and let it cook for 15 minutes.
